Extension privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy covers the Merch Ads Pro extension for Google Chrome. The website and your account are covered by the privacy policy.
Merch Ads Pro is operated by operator legal name and address ("we", "us").
The short version
- Your sales, royalties, products and ad reports are stored in a database inside the extension, on your computer. They are never sent to us.
- The extension works through the Amazon pages where you are already signed in. It never asks for your Amazon password or an API key.
- The only thing the extension sends to our servers is what it needs to sign you in and check your plan.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone.
What the extension reads
With the permissions you grant when you install it, the extension reads:
- Merch on Demand: your account details, products, sales and royalties.
- Amazon Ads: your advertising accounts, campaigns, targets, search terms and reports.
- Public Amazon product pages, when you use product research.
It reads them through your own signed-in Amazon session, at a pace that keeps your account well within Amazon's limits.
Where it is stored
Everything the extension reads is stored in a database inside the extension, in your Chrome profile on your computer. Your settings, goals and rules are stored there too. Uninstalling the extension deletes this database.
You can save a backup file of your settings, goals and rules and restore it on another computer. The backup file is saved where you choose; it is not uploaded anywhere.
What changes the extension makes on Amazon
The extension changes your campaigns, bids, budgets, keywords or prices only when you apply a change from the change queue, or when you turn on a rule in Act mode. Every change it makes is listed in History and can be undone from there.
What is sent to our servers
The extension connects to one server outside Amazon: our account server at app.merchadspro.com. It sends:
- the sign-in code and session tokens, to sign you in and keep you signed in;
- the extension version, so we can tell you when an update is required;
- requests for your account profile and plan, to unlock the features of your plan.
It does not send your sales, royalties, products, ad data, Amazon account details or browsing history.
Notifications
If you turn on desktop notifications (for example, for a new sale), they are created inside the extension from data on your computer. Their content does not leave your browser.
Chrome Web Store user data policy
The use of information received by the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:
- data is used only to provide the features you see in the extension;
- data is not transferred to third parties, except as described in this policy or as required by law;
- data is not used for advertising, sold, or used to determine creditworthiness or for lending;
- no person reads your data, except with your explicit permission for a support request, for security reasons, or as required by law.
